Mother's Day!
This is what I'm giving her .. :)
1. Breakfast in Bed is a must! Ever since I could cook (7) I have done this for her, and it's just sticked. I also make BB for my Dad because he feels lonely sitting next to her buffet haha!
What I include:
Sweet: Chocolate chip pancakes. You could also use blueberries etc.
- Add one cup of flour to a medium-sized bowl. Add 2 tsps of baking powder, 2 tsps sugar, 1/2 tsp of salt and combine.
- In a smaller bowl add two eggs and 2 tsps of vegetable oil (such a universal product).
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix.
- Pour one cup of milk, little at a time, to mixture and mix!
- Add 3/4 chocolate chips or whichever, and stir into batter.
- Grease frying pan with butter and heat high for about a minute, then bring down to medium.
- Spoon a 1/4 cup of batter, forming a perfect circle with the 1/4 cup.
- When cooked on edges and bubble form, turn over.
- Add butter or syrup or sauce if wished.
Drink: My mum prefers earl grey tea and fresh orange juice!
Omelette/ Scrambled eggs if you can't cook one lol
- Heat pan until sizzling hot, important!
- Whisk three eggs, 2 tbsp of milk, pepper and salt.
- Pour into pan and pull the edges up so the uncooked egg can run underneath.
- Garnish with parsley.
Fruit Salad
- Get two of your mother's favourite fruits. My mum's is strawberries and blue berries.
- Layer a cup like this:
- Strawberries, vanilla greek yoghurt, muesli/ granola, blueberries, yoghurt and muesli/ granola with a strawberry on top!
Presents
Because I am a beauty and baking freak, it has to be related to one of them. Because she doesn't wear makeup, I usually get her either a Lush bath bomb or massage bar, her favourite scent (usually
or a voucher for a bra/ nightwear/ slippers etc.
Also I always make a nice dinner such as a roast, lasange, bbq or cottage pie with vegetables. And dessert, I stick to something simple such as a cake or cupcakes. Yay!
Also a box of chocolate will go far ;) hehe
